]]> Descanso Gardens presents “Sound of Water: Feminine Expressions of Fluidity,” a group exhibition of contemporary Japanese women artists exploring water as both a source of serenity and a force of disruption. Open June 20, 2026 – Jan. 3, 2027 at the Sturt Haaga Gallery, the exhibition commemorates the 60th anniversary of Descanso’s Japanese Garden.

Entry to the Sturt Haaga Gallery is included with admission or membership.

Open daily through Sept. 6, the artist-founded and artist-run festival features artwork by 180+ local artists, live music, art demonstrations and a dedicated kids’ art area offering pottery wheel experiences, arts and crafts and more. Single day admission and season passes are available. Open daily at 11 a.m. Sunday – Thursday until 8 p.m. and Friday – Saturday until 10 p.m.

]]> Danish artist Thomas Dambo’s giant trolls return to South Coast Botanic Garden for a new whimsical installation. Find all 12 trolls tucked away in various corners of the Garden’s 87 acres. General admission includes Thomas Dambo’s TROLLS: A Field Study. For an additional ticket (ranging $12 – $33) sign up for Troll Treks, a 40-minute guided tour, or Tiny Troll Treks, a shorter tour plus a meet-and-greet with four of the giant trolls and interactive activities. Tours happen Saturdays and Sundays but the exhibit is open daily through Oct. 4.

]]> A new standalone summer concert series for LA County Parks, produced by NextFest LA highlights artists from L.A.’s indie music scene. Featuring 108 free concerts at 27 parks Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings from July 9- Aug. 29.

The programming spans Latin, R&B, Hip-Hop, Jazz, Reggae, Country, Americana, Indie, Indigenous, Dance, and Family genres, but is always tied to the specific cultural identity of each park community. With concerts taking place in parks throughout North, East, and South Los Angeles County—including La Puente, Sylmar, Antelope Valley, Carson, Azusa, West Covina, Palmdale, Lancaster, and more—audiences can expect a music festival experience that reflects the unique identity of each community.
